BBL CONSTRUCTION SHARES OVER HALF A MILLION DOLLARS WITH ITS EMPLOYEES
An initiative that recognizes the teams' contribution and reinforces the company's culture of engagement.
Gatineau, July 2, 2026 — Last Friday, BBL Construction brought together its approximately 80 employees to mark an important occasion: the distribution of over half a million dollars as part of its profit-sharing program.
Introduced to recognize the teams' contribution to BBL's growth, this initiative reflects a deeply held belief within the company: collective success must also benefit those who contribute to it.
For Sylvain Bertrand, President of BBL Construction, profit-sharing had to be more than just a financial gesture. By introducing this program, he wanted to recognize the people who contribute to BBL's development on a daily basis — through their work, their ideas, and their commitment.
Recognized for its active role in the community, BBL has been involved for several years in projects and organizations that have a tangible impact in the Outaouais region. Over the past three years, its teams have completed more than 10,000 hours of volunteer work. This culture of commitment is also reflected internally, among the employees who drive projects, client relationships, and ways of working forward.
Beyond attracting talent and retaining staff, profit-sharing sends a clear message: every individual contributes to solutions and has a say in BBL's development.
Since its launch three years ago, the program has paid out over $1.3 million to employees, both on site and in the office.
Key Facts

Our employees are not just part of the company — they play an active role in its development. Their ideas, judgement, and commitment have real value. Profit-sharing is a tangible way of acknowledging this."
— Sylvain Bertrand, President, BBL Construction

This contribution is evident not only in the quality of our projects, but also in the trust we build with our partners. BBL CONSTRUCTION STRUCTURES ITS GROWTH: BENOIT CHRÉTIEN APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT, MULTI-RESIDENTIAL SECTOR
Gatineau, March 18, 2026 — BBL Construction announces the appointment of Benoit Chrétien as Vice President, Multi-Residential Sector. This internal promotion marks a new stage in the evolution of the company’s multi-residential sector, whose demand and scale have grown significantly over the past three years.
Reporting directly to President Sylvain Bertrand, Benoit officially assumes his role today with a clear mandate: to expand the sector with the BBL approach — rigorous execution, full project ownership, and a strong client experience, from the first conversation through to project delivery.
Recognized for its expertise in commercial construction, BBL Construction is now applying the same execution discipline to the multi-residential sector. This appointment strengthens the company’s capacity to respond to growing demand in the Outaouais at a time when accelerating housing development is more essential than ever.
At BBL, Benoit has distinguished himself through his ability to lead large-scale projects with a high level of control and leadership. He notably led the La Cité Project, a 19-storey mixed-use tower delivered in 2024, and also oversaw the region’s first prefabricated affordable multi-residential housing projects, contributing to the evolution of construction practices while strengthening the company’s execution capacity moving forward.
A graduate engineer from the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Benoit Chrétien brings extensive experience in real estate and the delivery of complex projects. At SNC-Lavalin, he served as a Mechanical Engineer responsible for the real estate portfolio in Eastern Ontario. He later joined BGIS as Director, where he was responsible for the design of Portage 3, currently under construction. As part of the Zibi team (Ed Brunet), he also acted as the Construction Manager responsible for the ALTO Tower (15 storeys).
This professional background, combined with his accomplishments at BBL, aligns naturally with the mandate entrusted to him today: equipping the team, structuring the sector, and supporting the growth of the multi-residential sector with the same level of discipline, project after project.

— Sylvain Bertrand, President, BBL Construction
“BBL is growing, and the multi-residential sector is growing with it. Demand is strong, and my role is to strengthen what we have already built by giving the team and the company the tools, structure, and right reflexes to keep pace.
